Lyrics
Indian on the Mountain
Chant
I went flying in the mountains
On a cold fall day
I landed my helicopter
in what seemed a familiar place
I looked up on that mountain
I couldn't believe my eyes
Was an old indian warrior
Chanting an old indian battle cry.
Singing-Chant
He looked down from that mountain
He said "We've both been here before.
We were the last 2 men standing
at the end of that indian war."
"But you left this mountain
And throughout the land your story was told
But I stayed on this mountain
Guarding these poor fallen souls."
Chant
"Now we're leaving this mountain
together you and me
And these fallen souls I've been guarding
Can move on to their final destiny".
Then he jumped off of that mountain
I thought surely he would die
But he turned ino a red-hawk
And went soaring through the sky.
Chant
I looked at that hawk flying
And wondered how could that be
That he would be leaving this mountain
Just him and me
I jumped into my chopper
And took off into the sky
I looked and there was the redhawk
He was flying right along side.
Singing-Chant
I flew over that meadow
I started remembering
We were the last 2 men standing
That indian and me
Then I saw the hawk flying
High into the sky
And those souls he had been guarding
Were flying right behind.
