Story Behind The Song
It was written the day before last session on 'A Piece of My Soul; basically out of the need for one more song on the album to have enough tracks to justify charging $9.99 for the entire CD on iTunes.
Hopefully it describes the satisfaction I felt in deciding that I would no longer let my self be held back (musically) by others. I was so tired of the same old story of every band or individual I had committed to work with getting almost to the point of a working situation only to self destruct for whatever reason.
It also seemed like a good album title as well.
Song Description
Title song on self produced CD of same title. Actually the story behind my decision to start recording and performing as a solo act as opposed to trying to piece together another band.

Lyrics
Due to an unforeseen technicality
Forced to fan this flame that burns inside of me
Till it was bright enough that I could see
A side I've never known
Stepping out scared me half to death
Just can't seem to find a groove with nobody else
I'll take the blame or fame all by myself
Which ever way it goes
Chorus
Little too much time to get my courage up
Might be you never know
May never get more than a thousand pressed
But nonetheless, I hope to leave you with
A piece of my soul
