The Decision Was Made Move Along

Story Behind The Song

Void of inspiration, I started listening to various "Song Idea" tapes I'd made over the years. I found the hook for this song, and started playing with it. I was about to discard it again, but my wife said she really dug it. So I kept working on it. It's taken years to get the song to the point it's at now, but it was worth it... to me.

Lyrics

The Decision Was Made
Words and Music by James R. Paquette c.2004

Verse:
I did my best to learn from yesterday
And still make new mistakes either way
But I can?t stand still regretting what went wrong
The decision?s been made move along

I joined my first rock band when I was just a kid
So I don?t hear as well as I once did
Which makes it harder to enjoy a good song
But the decisions been made move along

Chorus:
The Decision was made and here ever after
I won?t go a single day without laughter
I?ll cherish the moments with people I love
And keep building that life I been dreaming of

So come what may the past is here to stay
The decision?s been made move along

Verse:
Credit cards, wedding vows
It?s much too late for us to turn back now
So maybe there?s a touch of innocence gone
But the decision?s been made move along

(Chorus)

I?ll take the bad with all the fun we had
The decision?s been made move along
