Lover Please is a request for someone to simply be quiet and not give out trite, superficial answers to everything--from one lover to another to simply be still and bear a burden together without the arrogance and self-righteousness of a slap-in-the-face answer--when the answer to the problem isn't necessarily understood. The song talks about trying to be alone and keep feelings inside becuase of this slapback effect--and how this is such a cold solution to the problem.
