Lyrics

Fame

Don't snort that line of powder
Then jump out of a plane
Don't dive in Acapulco
Just to cop a little fame

Cause fame can make you stupid
Fame can get you killed
Give up two-thirds of your life
For just one little thrill

They may love you on the big screen
Line up to hear your songs
You may think you have the power
Just like when the camera's on
But when the lights are dark
And the mics are put away
You go back to being Clark
Or look out!
You might not live to see another day!
Yeah!----Uh, huh

Now Hendrix and Belushi
They went a bit too far
Just because you feel invincible
Doesn't mean that's who you are

Cause fame can make you stupid
Fame can get you killed
Give up two-thirds of your life
For just one little thrill

They may love you on the big screen
Line up to hear your songs
You may think you have the power
Just like when the camera's on
But when the lights are dark
And the mics are put away
You go back to being Clark
Or look out!
You might not live to see another day!

Now Lincoln and Lennon
They didn't do a thing
Sometimes you just don't want to go
Where everybody knows your name
Now fame has a way of catching up
When you least expect
Some nut job wants his 15 minutes
Can have a bad effect

They may love you on the big screen
Line up to hear your songs
You may think you have the power
Just like when the camera's on
But when the lights are dark
And the mics are put away
You go back to being Clark
Or look out!
You might not live to see another day!
Yeah!

Blues Brothers on Fire!

Hey Charles & Joe, the production is great. Seems for your songs you sent to my pro-reviewing are doing really good. Keep it going. There is a purpose to replay this song "FAME" over and over for anyone that hears it just as it is which we know is a key component of a marketable song. Could hear this out of a few car bass driven speakers out on the road too. I'd suggest you shop it right now but in my opinion the message is very necessary these days. Looking forward to more Pro Reviewing of your songwriting production talents as they are becoming a blooming wheat field of grain that'll feed the listening masses once it's milled and sold (contracted). I look forward to see it happen soon.

Charles Edmund Carter just keeps on getting better and better!

"Fame" comes out of the starting gate like a souped-up Camero going 90 miles an hour--and what a thrill it is! Carter and Milton have totally nailed this classic rocker with high-energy testosterone in the vocal, recording, and overall edgy vibe that's the perfect setting for their agitated story-telling. Awesome work, guys!

A well played, well sung and well produced rocker that sounds like it could be a staple in band's live set.

"Fame" is a groovy Blues-Rock song that showcases a unique idea for a song. I think Charles does a good job of pulling it all together to create a cohesive tune that might appeal to a lot of people. Nice job.
