Lyrics
The Christmas Dream
The night before Christmas, I had a dream.
It was so scary, I woke with a scream.
It was so sad, I cried a lot.
I dreamed Christmas wasn?t comin?, everyone forgot.
They forgot to laugh, they forgot to sing
All the Christmas bells were quite, they forgot to ring.
They forgot to light the Christmas tree
And on the dark, cold night, they forgot about me.
So I pulled back the covers, got up from my bed,
Thinkin? of that dream and those thoughts in my head.
I wanted to know could it be true?
And Christmas wasn?t comin? for me or for you.
I crept from my room to see what I could see
And I saw Santa Claus smiling at me.
He said, ?It?s only a dream, don?t be upset.
It was only a dream, we did not forget.?
Then he took me by the hand and held me to his side
Then he put me in his sleigh and we went for a ride.
We flew through the sky, we sailed through the night.
The bells were ringin? joyously, the stars were shining bright.
And all the mice they were a dancin?, they were singin? with the cats
And all the cats were dancin? with the dogs and the dogs was wearin? hats.
And I cried, ?Christmas! It?s comin?. I can see it?s comin? fast
Oh Santa when it come won?t you please make it last??
Came back home, landed on the roof.
Took me down the chimney, then we was gone. Poof!
But I heard him call to me as he rode off in his sleigh,
?Happy Christmas morning! Happy Christmas Day!?
