Story Behind The Song

Bruce was then unknowingly intoxicated with mercury in his medical research lab and embarked on a quest to heal himself from the resulting life-destroying symptoms, such as a crippling, spinal arthritic, "archetypal hip wound" illness akin to the "Amfortas hip wound" of the Holy Grail myths, with cognitive difficulties as the mercury affected Bruce's nervous system. This emerged from the unconscious as a "wounded healer's journey" akin to the opus of medieval alchemy. In the analogous myth of the "Alchemical Mercurius," the protagonist has an encounter with the deadly god of mercury, then comes out of the ordeal with a new universal healing modality. In real life, while going from doctor to doctor brought no alleviation of Bruce's then undiagnosed mercurial affliction, Bruce intuited that refining his biophysics technology was going to be the answer to resolve his illness, akin to slowly dying of old age in his mid-thirties. Song Description

Smooth jazz with a lyric about the spiritual blindness Bruce encountered while developing the integrative unified field theory of biophysics. The first verse describes a relationship that failed due to such blindness; the second a collective response. Bruce was too paradigmatically radical for his molecular biology peers and had to develop his water-based unified field theory in secret while pursuing the Ph.D. in medical science at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Bruce is published with the State AIDS Director of New Mexico, Dr. Steve Jenison, as they developed the first diagnostic blood test for the hantavirus ahead of the CDC at UNM. Since then, Bruce developed the Spiral Violet 1 biophysics technology to combat such solar-mediated epidemics as the prototypical hantavirus, among many other of the most challenging diseases that traditional medicine has yet to effectively treat; AIDS, cancer, the mental health disorders, etc...
