Story Behind The Song

This song was originally written for a musical called "Planet Eden" but Planet Eden has been renamed "Alienated" in its latest rewrite and this song as sweet as it is does not fit into the story any longer.

Song Description

The song begins with a woman singing about her husband/boyfriend/lover explaining that she was trying to get close to her; when he left her floundering, she left. He apologizes for letting their flame of love go out, and sings about how lonely he was without her when she left. But he has prepared a ship for the two of them and they are going to sail off into the sunset together, him the captain and her his mate.
