Jesus Ain't Coming

Story Behind The Song

Following the attack on America on September 11th of 2001 Dave Talley began to search the Bible to see if this tragedy was foretold in scripture as some modern religious leaders were proclaiming. That search lead him to the conclusions upon which the song is based. It was written and produced to encourage the listeners to read the Bible for themselves rather than believing the end times doctrine of so-called modern Christianity. There is no eveidence in the Bible that it is or ever has been in God's plan to destroy the earth. What a great relief this is to those who believe that the Bible is in fact the Word of God.

Song Description

While the modern Christian faith proclaims that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will occur any day now, Jesus himself told his First Century disciples that his return would occur in their own lifetime and the signs that he gave them were all to come to pass before the destruction of the then standing Jewish temple at Jerusalem.

Lyrics

CHORUS:
Jesus ain?t coming Jesus ain?t coming
Jesus ain?t coming soon
He came back long ago the Bible tells me so
Jesus ain?t coming soon

When the Lord told his disciples about his Second Coming
About the signs and the time of the end
The Temple was still standing and he told them it must fall
But not until he?d surely come again
It lies in ruin (Luke Chapter 21)

Repeat Chorus

Now he warned of persecution, he told them they?d see strife
But that the age was ending by and by
And he vowed to come in judgement with his mighty band of angels
While some there in his midst were still alive
And they believed him (Matthew Chapter 16)

Repeat Chorus

So many big time preachers say the Lord is coming soon
And that any day this world is going to end
But the good Lord made a promise way back in Noah?s day
That he never would destroy this world again
And I believe him (Genesis Chapter 28)

Repeat Chorus

Do you believe in Jesus do you trust his blessed Word
He?s the Son of God who died to make you free
We?ll all see him when we die as one by one we?re called on high
To that mansion that he promised you and me
Hallelujah (Revelation 14:13)

Repeat Chorus
We?ll all see him when we die as one by one we?re called on high
But Jesus ain?t coming soon
