Somobe- (Pronounced So-Moby) A term used in jazz circles, during the swing era meaning "So Cool"

Multi-Instrumentalists is just one title these two Las Vegas natives hold. Jonathan Owens (22) and Roland Llapitan (22) began their music careers during their sophomore year of High School, where they formed their 1st band named Full Effect. Playing Funk and R&B cover tunes at Basketball and Football games. They went on to writing their own Jazz and Blues instrumentals. As word spread about these young kids amazing playing abilities they were called on to perform at various events thru-out the city.

As time went on they added rap vocals to their show, and changed their name to Somobe, this name would be used as a reminder of their jazz roots. This new direction opened doors for them as opening acts to multi-platinum artists P.Diddy, JaRule, B2k, Tyrese and an ecletic array of old school artists such as WAR, Cameo and Otis Day and the Knights of animal house fame.
