C.N. Williams (Clifford) has been involved with the dance scene since 1990 playing a unique style of US vocal Garage and Funky House ranging in styles from Basement Boys to Subliminal to Shaboom and MAW. He has been resident at Wales' only super club 'The Escape' for almost 5 years, taking control in 1998. Now hosting the 600 capacity room with DJ Partner 'DJ Bern' they currently hold the official title of Wales no 1 funky house DJ's as voted for by the public for the Welsh music foundation.
The early part of his DJ career saw many residencies ranging from Strictly Groovy (Swansea) to 'The Love Palace' with co - DJ / Promoter Danny Slade in the early nineties alongside his own dance music specialist shop 'Club Scene'. In 1995 he set up his own label 'Final Phase' records, which was distributed via Rough Trade Music (RTM) in conjunction with Mike Truman (Hybrid), which led him into DJ-ing at venues such as the Ministry of Sound, Club UK and Freedom.
From this he decided to follow his love of music by setting up a record company 'Stone City' which concentrated on UK and US Garage and distributed the early sounds of Grant Nelson, UBQ, Artful Dodger, Jazz and Groove and the Dreem Teem to name but a few. This also led to C.N. Williams appearing on the London pirate radio scene playing mainly for Magic 90.2 FM every Friday from 6-8pm, playing a selection of funkier grooves from both sides of the Atlantic.
