Influenced by the great songwriters of her youth, Marie jumped right into the local music scene in 79' performing classic covers in an acoustic trio. She was hooked. After that she performed over the next 12 years gaining knowledge and experience. All the music of the late 60's 70's and the current music of the 80's were showcased. In 85' Marie hooked up with a songwriter and started a band called ESP. ESP's originals were cutting edge "new wave" and Marie wrote some of the material. The band gigged at CBGB's, opened up for several national acts, won several contests and had plenty of airplay in the upstate NY area.
Marie began writing her own material in 1999 and soon released her 1st independent CD in 2002 aptly named :"Little Box of Fantasy". The local newspaper spoke of LBOF as "impressive and "uplifiting 80s influenced pop".
Her newest relrease, ":Lies With a Kiss" reveals her love of southern, acoustic and folk rock. Canadian music critic Chris Iorfida, a contributor to Chart Magazine, has written for Eye Magazine and Exclaim!. Iorfida says of Lies With A Kiss, "these are hook-filled songs ripe for Triple-A play. "The Sun" sonds like Heart doing the Beatles and "Lies With a Kiss" is lyrically and melodically engaging."
