Lovesister is the creation of Brent Jensen, a Toronto-based musician who grew up in a small northern town in Ontario, Canada. Jensen's music is a return to the days when music was less commercialized. "Way back when", says Jensen of today's music, "the longevity of a band was such that you could follow them through their career, which spanned several records that defied categorization. You don't see that much anymore. Music was much more natural back then, because it was less about money than it was about feeling". In keeping with this mindset, 'So Much For Hollywood' was recorded in a small home studio, and eschews the polish of a "professional" recording. "My favourite records, like the Stones' 'Exile on Main Street', were great because they were the real deal. All the mistakes were left in, and it was so raw and genuine that it gave you a greater sense of what the band felt, and what they were really about. To me, that's really what rock and roll is".
