Julia (Altstatt) Kasdorf has been playing music professionally for 17 years. She got her start playing bass in punk bands like the Angry Samoans in San Francisco, and then moved on to play for Dead Tribute band, the Dead Ringers, featuring David Nelson, in New York City. After 10 years of slinging her Fender in the SF/LA punk/glam scene, she moved East to get serious. Being equally competent on her Goodall acoustic guitar, Julia Kasdorf and singer Janet Emma Garbe front their own irrepressible, fiercely competent alt-country band, One Horse Town, near Washington, DC.

One Horse Town will release their first cd, "Dawn Will Deliver", produced by the legendary Jon Carroll, in July, 2006.

Julia's songwriting, whether blues, pop, folk, or alt-country, has evolved over the years to offer dry wit and effective hooks. Everyone who plays Julia's songs comes to appreciate the backbone and perpetual groove of her tunes.

Hey Julia, I love this song! Adrian, Ian, Eric and I have been having a nostalgia-fest about UEA in 1980-81, and your electronic ears may have been burning. Get in touch if you want to share the convo and see some pics I've dug up. Warm regards from long ago, John
