Citing influences as diverse as Soul Coughing, American Music Club and Elliot Smith, John Jackson is one of the most intriguing new songwriters you will find on the scene today: a former toxicologist turned writer of sparkling, emotional songs: iconoclastic and left-field, John's is an extraordinary vision of the world where bitterly satirical lyrics and spine-tingling melodies reveal the beauty among the ruins of our modern lives.

The current album - bad things happen all the time - is available online at Magnatune.

From this album, Through the Glass won 2nd place in the Acoustic/Folk category of the Unisong 2004 International Songwriting Competition. The title track was a runner up in the 2004 UK Songwriting Contest rock/indy category.
