Wakene Bailey of Iambvpm is a songwriter/producer from the Washington, DC metro area. After having played saxophone and keyboards since high school, he decided in college to become a songwriter and producer. A songwriter of instinct and uniqueness, Wakene has a flair for writing songs that leave the listener motivated and involved. Although his roots are firmly placed in hip hop and jazz, he draws inspiration from many different lyrical and musical influences. "My style is unique and edgy. It is that versatility that has landed his song "Raise Up and Praise Him", an urban gospel song co-written with gospel artist Deja, as 2006 Billboard World Songwriting Contest Gospel Song of the Year.
Music is not a new passion for Wakene, studied music for over 15 years and writing songs since the age of 16. At the age of 18, he began performing and recording with local bands and artists in the Washington DC and Baltimore metro area.
