I set sail as songwriter after winning an international songwriting contest I read about in the Wall Street Journal, in search of a theme song for Wichita, Kansas. "You'll Feel Wichita" launched a lifelong pass-time as a lyricist that has earned four ASCAP Popular Arts Awards, commissions for original songs at the National Democratic Issues Conference ("We Give Democracy It's Name") and The Indiana AiDS Memorial ("Once Again"). I've written over 20 songs with the 'Folk Princess of Pop', Melanie, and collaborated on two Off Broadway reviews
("Tomorrow's Broadway-A Look Back" and "Deep Dish Beauty")
while performing improvised musical comedy in New York with Interplay and The National Improv Theater, which I co-founded.

In 2012,I've won 2 Director's Awards in the Nashville Int'l Song & Lyric Contest with "February-Fourteenth Day" and "I Don't Want to Live Forever"; hit Broadjam's Top Ten List twice since March...
Once in Country-Religious Genre, title: "I Have Seen the Angels Singing" and the second hit #2 and holding on the Holiday list:"Looks Like It's Holiday Time". I'm currently adding music to my lyrics to "When I Am Free" for the National Hospice Foundation.

Look for "I Don't Want to Live Forever" fresh out of Nashville Demo Studio, along with pro mastered remakes of "Lovin' Over Budget" and "Hate to Have to Love You, But I Do" by May 26th!!

Well, they're out now looking for placements. Thing is, Morgan Douglas and Brittini Black at NDS sang so well I can't fathom any A-list Super Star who can do it better! Going back to record 4 more in June.

BTW: Two songs on iTunes now are: "A Little More Country"sung by David Melby-Gibbons,
and "Make Sure You Make It Christtmas" music & vocals by Dog-n-Butterfly's Sean Clegg

Hey there friend David, so we meet again. thanks for reviewing my very vintage song, Country Christians. FYI, Aunt Glade in the song fell off her porch and broke her shoulder this past week, so if you are a praying man, say a prayer for her. She doesn't teach Sunday School anymore but she sews up a storm for Jesus and this broken shoulder has really put a crimp on her do it style. I think she is 83 now? Anyway, it was a very sweet review and I appreciate your kind thoughts. I am heading out on a big tour to Indiana and giving a songwriting seminar to boot, so big plans are in the works. Also I released my new CD, NanaTunes. All the songs are at the top of my page if you wanna take a listen. Have a great day in my home state of CA! Mrs. Kate
