inexpensive, very focused (so more chance hopefully to get selected if you fit the description).. a lot more like Taxi but cheaper.. however i just did it for Victoria and don't know if it will yield any results. Not the place to go on to get to a library or a publisher/record label.

Out of curiosity, have you had any luck with placements on here? I haven't yet. But haven't sent off that many. Sometimes i wonder if it's real? i know people do get selected as they tell you who's won. maybe I'm just getting cynical?

Hi Darren. I've been selected for a lot, but the issue is that even if you're selected, that either means you are going into a song library or a song plugger has picked your song to specifically to pitch to a music supervisor they have a relationship with. So NEITHER confirms your song is getting on TV or a film and getting you paid. I've had placements like this for 18 months now and still no paycheque. Last month I was notified that 3 of my songs were chosen to be tested into edits for the hit drama series Gotham. But even still, if the song doesn't fit the editing footage, then it doesn't get used. So there appears to be SO MANY LEVELS you have to get through just to make it to film or TV. As i've learned, even being SELECTED on Broadjam is FAR FROM the same as getting an actual placement and getting paid for it. Hope this helps. :-)
Hi Doug. Thanks for the help clearing up the placement issue. Jeez, i never knew it was that difficult. I thought when you're chosen you're guaranteed some success/payment. It seems like it comes down to luck really? It's opened my eyes a bit, appreciate the tip. I won't be holding my breath then Lol. Will probably submit stuff still now and then. I knew it weren't going to be easy. Guess it's the nature of the business. Were the placements non-exclusive? I'm not sure if there's any other sites like this that may have more luck with submissions? Thanks. darren.
I know that Taxi is the same, as is Music Xray and Hitlicense. Broadjam is actually the one that's given me the most success per dollars spent by far though. You can try a European one called Track & Fields. It might be better but I've never joined that one.

Thanks for your excellent comments Doug! i agree with them and just tried tracks and fields... Broadjam has been very good for Victoria and cheaper than MusicXray which is full of scam opportunities.. I had this radio show from Music Xray stating that he will feature her on the show when she gets traction on the track!

So after speaking w/my producer, we have decided to take my 5 songs that are singles, then record the others I have in my head, and do it the right way...a slow & steadily put together whole cd. Hoping for a late 2016 release. :)

Developing over time and polishing as you go is the best way to go. My studio is sitting on so many productions its silly. I used to just sling them out the door week after week after week. Now I just try sling perfected productions when I can. Working an album up? Not sharing a single production before release? Its a solid way to not only perfect your craft... But to consistently put out better and better work. N
