Brett Allen Reeves has been writing songs since his childhood in Topsy, Loozianna.

He escaped the petroleum refineries and various timber-cutting jobs by going to college at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, then lit out for Austin, Texas, in 1989, where he attended graduate school at The University of Texas.

This is a smart guy, but with country in his mouth and the Gulf Coast in his genes.
