Bio

Battery Park began in the summer of 2000 in Denver, Colorado. It was simply 3 guys jamming in a basement together because they loved music. Quickly the band realized they had found a unique and exciting sound and they shifted their focus to make the most of this opportunity.
During the course of the next 2 years, the band focused on refining their sound, building a fan base, and getting attention; all with amazing success. Their song, "Tell Me" was featured on a segment of VH1's ROCK ACROSS AMERICA in June of 2001. Later that summer, they won the Jim Beam Unsigned Band Northwest Regional competition at the Hard Rock Café (Denver) and competed at the National Finals with only 4 other bands from the entire U.S. This national attention was reinforced with significant regional attention including many high profile benefit gigs including a knockout performance at the C.H.U.N. Peole's Fair in Denver.
2001 saw the release of Battery Park's first recording project, an EP called "Five Songs".
In the fall of 2001, Skye and Todd joined the band, rounding out the package with their complementary musicianship, creative spark and energy. On the heels of the success of "Five Songs", and with a growing fan base, Battery Park recorded their first full-length album, “Scattered Pictures” over the spring and summer of 2002 and released it in August of that year. The album was received well nation-wide and was charting nationally on CMJ reporting stations, being played on over 180 stations.
