A Texan in London, Laura Stark owns a piece of the desert. These are torch songs for a twisted age. A twang seen through misty London days. "Lots of ghosts and horizons and sky". Bewitching. Magical. This stuff will linger in your head for a long, long time. You are warned. Soon after this singer/songwriter began to play her music in London's acoustic venues, she attracted the attention of some of the UK's best musicians, including drummer Neil Conti and pedal steel player BJ Cole, featured on these tracks. She was a "Women in Music" artist at Louis Jay Meyers’ LMNOP Conference in New Orleans, and her song, "Fly Away", was commissioned for a Swiss Air/Sabena ad campaign. Stark is a BMI member and has attended the MIDEM and SXSW music conferences. She has also played several gigs in LA, New York, opened for 16-Horsepower at Slim's San Francisco, played live on BBC Radio, along with gigging at London's famous Borderline, 12-Bar Club, The Colony Rooms, and The Kashmir Klub.

In 2001, she embarked on her first US tour, including opening for hardcore country twangsters, 16 Horsepower, at the famous Slim’s club in San Francisco, and several dates in Los Angeles and New York City. She also recently performed in Denmark, and has played live on both US and UK Internet Radio and BBC Radio.
