Cliff was named the 2003 "Gulf Coast Idol" 1st place winner recently held at Seville Quarter Entertainment Complex in downtown Pensacola and was invited to perform on the main stage at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds as well as perform the National Anthem at the Pensacola Ice Pilots Hockey season opening game. He was also the Grand Winner of the 2000 Hank Williams' Songwritng Competition held in Hank's hometown of Georgianna, Alabama. His original song, "YOU CAN THANK HANK" earned him top honors and he was invited to open the next days' following show for Billie Joe Royal, Lori Morgan, Hank's daughter, Jett Williams and others.

Bio
Cliff grew up in DeLeon Springs, Florida where he learned to sing and play the guitar from his father. He won numerous talent contests as a youngster and began to write his own songs when he was fifteen years old. He began performing professionally the next few years with various house bands and learned the craft from those performers in the area. Later as an artist signed to a Nashville record label in the late 80's, Cliff performed on the Grand Ole Opry on several occasions, toured with Ricky Van Shelton and Johnny Rodriguez and opened shows for top acts such as Emmylou Harris, Dwight Yoakum, Clint Black, David Alan Coe and others with his own band, Bronco Mesa.
During the past 18 months, Cliff has found success both with his full length CD of all original material as well with his single song CD release, a memorable tribute to the late NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr. entitled "THE INTIMIDATOR". Featured regularly on the nationally syndicated "JohnBoy & Billy Radio Show", it is a much requested song during Cliff's live shows in addition to being merchandised through his website at www.cliffdarby.com.
