Persistence" from Gernado is an impressive collection of raggamuffin hip-hop, roots reggae, dancehall and even a taste of jamoo and jungle. Message-wise this album is packed with conscious and positive themes infused with faith in Christ. The songs offer enough variety for them to appeal to a wide range of listeners. To top it all off, the production is extra solid with assistance from Sherwin Gardner, Jah Pickney and Mark Mohr. Additionally, there are guest appearances from Mark Mohr of Christafari and several others. If you love fresh reggae sounds with a street edge, you'll love this album. Mike Roots
