“It all started when I borrowed my younger brother’s Mickey Mouse guitar, it was this yellow plastic thing with three nylon strings – I converted it into an ‘electric’ by strapping a cheap pair of headphones to the body with rubberbands for a pickup, and then cranked it up through this ancient stereo my Dad gave me. It was really awful, but hey--it sounded good to me. To think that God inspired me to play music through that thing is still amazing to me. But boy I was hooked. I played that guitar to death for almost 8 months before I coaxed my parents to get me a real guitar.”
Since then, Ken’s been writing and playing music that’s all about passion, and a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ. Ken’s been influenced by everyone from U2 to Jars of Clay, Crowded House to Third Day, Steven Curits Chapman to Toad the the Wet Sprocket.
Call Ken's music rock, acoustic rock, even worship rock, but throughtout Ken's music is rooted in his faith journey, with all of life's struggles and joys, sorrows and triumphs. The driving guitars and soaring melodies all serve to bring the listener to an encounter with the living God.
“In the end it’s all about the transforming power of God’s love in our lives – and how God can take any circumstance or relationship – and use it to help transform our lives into something much greater than we could ever hope or imagine."
