Joe Beleznay is captivating. It’s as simple as that. There is no glossy production with his songs—just raw, honest, true music, and it is that rare prowess that makes this Connecticut-based singer-songwriter so distinctive. He creates music with such permanence and valor, gently fusing music into an expression of the words. (N. Roberge 2004)

Joe Beleznay has always been “on the go.” The product of a military family, Beleznay found himself traveling around the world during much of his early childhood. Although his environment was continually changing, Beleznay's love of music kept him centered during the long, cross-country car journeys.
After middle school, Joe's family settled in Fairfield , CT. Once he had finally found a stable home, he discovered a new means for exploring his passion for music. Beleznay, whose influences range from Ryan Adams, to Jeff Buckley, began playing guitar at age 16 and writing songs soon after. As a senior in high school, he formed a band with a group of close friends. A quiet student in school, he caught his classmates off-guard with his soulful, sultry voice and engaging stage presence. After performing together for about one year, the band broke up, but he continued writing and playing music.
In 2002, Beleznay began performing in public again and quickly amassed a loyal fan base. His homemade EP, gotta start somewhere , helped him generate a wealth of internet buzz and allowed him to share his lingering melodies and deep, heart-felt lyrics with new listeners from across the country and around the globe.
Although his recorded music effectively displays his multitude of musical talents, his true essence can only be witnessed during his live performances. He is consistently animated while performing. He regales audiences with his sharp wit and quirky sense of humor, provi
