Leon M. Bland A/K/A Icients
Leon M. Bland (A/K/A Icients) has soared to new heights as a Singer, Producer and Songwriter and is one of the most soulful and explosive performers in Florida with a captivating voice that inspires the melodic range of emotions, actions and behaviors that we all have in common. Icients has a fresh blend of music that combines R&B with Reggae, Hip-Hop, Soul and Blues. He gives inspirational credit to artist such as: Stevie Wonder, Boyz 2 Men, Bob Marley, Bobby Blue Bland and Marvin Gaye. Originally born in Memphis, Tennessee he moved to Tampa, FL with his mother in 1992 and embarked on his musical journey. While in high school he was lead singer of their R&B group called " Candlelight ". They have appeared on Fox 28-The Early Morning Show, performed on WTMP 1150am radio station, and were the 1996 Tampa Apollo Talent Search winners. Focused on his passion and love for music they formed a group called " Statement ". They have opened up for national recording artist like: Genuwine, The Marley Brothers, Sizzla, Deon Sanders, Dead Prez, and Cee-lo of Goodi-Mob. While attending college in Tampa, he has been awarded for his outstanding vocal talent and leadership skills working with student government organizations. As a solo artist he has showcased his talent by featuring on compilations and mix-tapes with other local recording artist, produced by: T.O.K. Records, Deep Records, Lion Face Records, Lava Sound Productions, Drak Boy Records, Greg Gates Productions, Heartthrob Entertainment and Red Eyez Entertainment. Icients was also one of the three finalists for the 2003 John Casablanca's Talent Search and winner of the 2007 Seagrams Gin Talent Showcase. The upcoming album " The Voice of Music " is expected to drop on January 5, 2010 and is anticipated to be one of the best R&B indie albums of the year.
