DEATH & TAXES, a hard rock band composed of veteran musicians from Los Angeles-area rock acts, is scheduled to release their new CD in mid-April 2004. Titled "Waste of a Perfectly Good CD", the album is said to be "a blend of straight ahead old school rock, reminiscent of rock's glorious past, brought up to speed with a definite twist."
The nucleus of DEATH & TAXES are Jay Link on lead vocals, Michael Cutting of HOLY SOLDIER fame on guitars, David Starkey on bass, and Paul Monroe of XYZ fame on the drums.
Currently, the band is a self-produced, self-managed, independent act, who will be putting the finishing touches on the 11-song CD in late January 2004. Look for a summer tour to follow.

Bio
Death & Taxes, a new Rock Group formed by three music veterans in Los Angeles CA.
Jay Link, Michael Cutting & David Starkey had all played together from 1981 through 1984 in a local California rock band. After going their seperate ways & having individual successes in the industry, Jay, Mike & Dave got together in LA for a quick project & recording session, that was mostly just for fun & seeing if any of the "Old Magic" from the former band, was still there.
It obviously was. Working together writing & pre -production of the new 4 song EP "Waste of a perfectly good CD". was completed in 4 days. & recorded at LA FX Studio in North Hollywood in two days.
Assisted by XYZ drummer Paul Monroe, and Grammy nominated producer engineer Eric Fahlborg, The 4 song CD has taken off. It is currently in rotation on over thirty internet stations worldwide, and two of the songs, Trust charting at #1 in the Rock Genre & Serenity charting at #7 in the alternative rock charts, are still charting in the top 10 after 15 weeks of internet radio airplay. There have also been over 12,000 downloads of Death & Taxes tracks on Kazaa.
