Take These Hands is a compassionate look at immigrants from Central and South America and the Caribbean. Its difficult to read the words on the small screen, so here they are: Beginning: Immokalee, Florida, about 30 miles east of Naples on Floridas gulf coast, is home to thousands of immigrants from countries south of our border. They came to escape terrible poverty.... The fear of deadly persecution.... and a jobless state that leaves their children hungry. They just want to work, make a better life, and live in peace. End quotes: "Thats why they are coming. They come to earn." Sister Maureen Kelleher, R.H.S.M., Immigration Attorney Many of these workers still live in the shadows. We need their labor... They need a way to survive.... Take these hands.
