Siblings Richard and Cecilia Daskas formed Umu to produce their first collaborative album, "Henri." Umu combines electronic and popular styles in a kaleidoscopic wheel of complex rhythmic layers, simple melodic gestures and noise elements to create a unique sound. Musical concepts vary from experimental collages to pop to atmospheric soundscapes. Umu's use of lyrics is usually sparse and incorporates indistinguishable, processed vocal utterances.
