Son of Rust began as the creative outlet and life support system of Justin Coope in early 1999. From a simple hobby, Son of Rust grew to become one of the most popular electronic bands on MP3.COM, which until it's demise in 2003 was easily the most accessesed indy music site on the world wide web. Bosting over 15,000 plays a month and appearing on over 30 playlists, Son of Rust tracks all ranked in the top 10 of every genre they appeared in, and stuck there for almost two years.

With the addition of Ben Purdy on guitar and synths, Son of Rust has an active live show schedule and a large fan base, with over 9500 fans on Myspace.com and spins on radio stations and in clubs across the country. They've played to thousands opening for bands like Information Society and Cause & Effect, and have a full-length album available now from Itunes and CDBaby.com.
