Sean Christopher Persuad, a.k.a. Shawnie Ranks was trailblazing from back in the day with the single “Getting it On” ” which became one of the top most requested videos on the “The Box” and reached #1. Shawnie’s talent wow-ed producers Heavy D, Dave Cintron (who produced Kelly Price, Soul for Real and Intro) and P-King (who produced Method Man and Ludacris), who worked vigorously to release his self titled album in 1995. The singles “Boomin Body” and “Goody Good Love” created industry buzz and interest in Shawnie skyrocketed. After the “Boomin Body” release fans so craved to see Shawnie that the video schedule was pushed up!
Keep your eyes peeled for his new album, The Return Vol. II, due to be released on Prolific/Bungalo/UMVD summer 2006. The first singles off the long awaited The Return Vol. II album, “Shake Ya Money Maker” featuring a Reggaeton remix and “Do Ya Thang Ma”, a collabo with Queen Pen, both are already burning up the airwaves in Jamaica.
