Rained in Maine, but, we were able to play one set. Working on getting some gigs in the Boston and outskirts areas and New York. Will keep you informed of any upcoming shows. rege

Greetings;
I am a Indie Singer-Songwriter, Entertainer, and Reggae Musician performing upbeat high energy original music with no show being the same. I have opened for Jimmy Cliff and others. Headlined many shows myself. Love the positive interaction between the fans and myself.

I have been invited to showcase and perform at the Prestigious Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival in Temecula Valley, CA.. It will be a wonderful opportunity to expose my performing and musical compositions to the press/media, film makers, industry professionals,actors, and actresses who attend and of which some will walk away with a Lifetime/Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
Last week I was notified that I had again won the 2011 first prize in ReverbNations; Show Me The Music Contest , Reggae Category with my song, "Have Caution" which is on my first CD, It's Only Love. Thank You ReverbNation for your belief in my music.
Last year I won first prize in the Reggae Category of the 2010 Show Me The Music Contest (SMTMC) with my original song, "Call Me", from my second CD, Limited Edition.

I also attended the, I Create Music ASCAP Expo in Hollywood, Ca., in April 2010. The highlight of the Expo for myself was the interview by Justin Timberlake of Quincy Jones. What a treat! The man is not only a musical icon, he has a wealth of information that is truely interesting and so entertaining. I found the Expo an eye opening experience of the business side of music.

I grew up in the beautiful Caribbean raised by my maternal Grandmother. We had hard times, but, we had love!
I started singing at age 9, and went on to participate in Calypso Competitions as a teen of which I won some. But, I realized my spiritual convictions through the years, by being around festivals and shows featuring Joe Higgs and The Skatalites. I made Reggae my music of choice. Or, It chose me? Besides the Calypso Recordings I made in Trinidad, in the 50's and early 60's, I made a name for myself releasing a song that was so popular with the common people, but, was very unpopular with the "then" government, who sent the police to the radio station and took all copies of my song and broke them, forbidding the radio station to play it anymore. (But, through the years, friends and family told me there must have been copies made as they still hear the song being played.) My family found it in my best interests to send me to the USA to live with relatives.

After a few months living in New York City, I formed a band and named it, The New Generation Band. I signed with Entertainment Unlimited and we started gigging and performing Reggae Music up and down the entire East Coast making a name for myself at many clubs and college functions. Unfortunately, the recording we made were in "home" studios including my demo's.

Our Manager took us down to Jacksonville, Florida for a concert in the early 90's. Got us an apartment for the week. And left us there and took off with the money from the concert. Myself and two of the band members stayed in Florida and the others returned to New York and Boston. I started all over again, and formed a new New Generation Band and we played from Knoxville, Tennessee to Miami, Florida.
I released my first official US CD, "It's Only Love" in 2004. The songs, "Reggae Music" and "Rubba Dub Style" are songs reminiscent of the music I wrote and performed in the Caribbean. The song and title "It's Only Love" says it ALL for me. Love does make the world go round.

Irie,
