Matt Heider began studying piano at age seven. He switched to synthesizers in his teens after discovering their sonic capabilities. After moving to the U.S., Matt studied jazz composition at the University of Utah while playing in rock bands and working at recording studios where he composed jingles, bumpers and themes. At the same time, Matt started writing music for video games. He composed the scores for the award-winning video games, The Pandora Directive, and Tex Murphy: Overseer. Matt has helped create 18 original, 40-minute shows for The Starry-Eyed Puppets, a Salt Lake City-based puppet troupe. He has also worked as a sound engineer and composer for documentary films and television spots. Matt has twice been a finalist in the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composers Competition. He lives in Utah.
