Marc learned to play piano at the age of 7. Since then, the San Francisco native’s songs and musicianship have landed him on CNN, garnered college and mainstream radio play across the country and have allowed him to tour extensively from California to Maine (and to over 30 states in between). He has earned vocal comparisons to Cat Stevens and songwriting comparisons to such artists as Elton John, Ben Folds and the Counting Crows.

Marc toured the country for almost two years as the lead singer and keyboardist for independent band Ten Mile Tide. Before leaving the band in 2005, TMT became the single most downloaded independent band in Kazaa history (having amassed over 13 million downloads at last count) and was selected as a winner of Relix Magazine’s 2004 Jamoff competition.

After over a year-long break from touring, Marc will begin playing out again to support the August 2006 release of the Gauthier-produced We All Want To Be So Different.

Marc Mazzoni Biography

Marc started his musical career early, learning to play piano at the age of 7.

Before embarking on his current solo career, Marc toured the country for almost two years as the lead singer and keyboardist for independent band Ten Mile Tide (which he co-founded in 1999 with Jason Munning, Justin Munning and Steve Kessler). Before leaving the band in 2005, TMT became the single most downloaded independent band in Kazaa history (having amassed over 13 million downloads at last count) and was selected as a winner of Relix Magazine’s 2004 Jamoff competition

Marc’s musical journey didn’t start in earnest until he graduated from Stanford University. Having been an avid songwriter since high school, he started recording and playing live as soon as he left college. Since then, he has released two albums with TMT (the critically acclaimed Flow and Midnight is Early) and is about to release his first solo album, We All Want To Be So Different (Produced by Jack Gauthier).

During his career, Marc has opened for indie-rock heroes Dispatch, jam band favorites Strangefolk and recent San Francisco breakout band Tea Leaf Green. He has played sold out shows at the Great American Music Hall (SF) and jammed in the hills of Quincy, California at the prestigious High Sierra Music Festival. Some of his most memorable shows, however, have been some of the least well attended…ranging from a backyard shed ho-down in Maine to a genuine barn party in the ‘suburbs’ of Manhattan, Kansas.

After over a year-long break from touring, Marc will begin playing out again to support the August 2006 release of the Gauthier-produced We All Want To Be So Different. Standout tracks “You’re Not Perfect,” “Girl With The Golden Guitar” and “The Island” have already been receiving rave reviews despite an extremely limited July pre-release. Ever the prolific writer, Marc has also promised to post a ‘rough’ unreleased track every month (starting in September) to list members at marcmazzoni.com.
