The band originally was formed at the beginning of summer, 2004 with five members. It had David Graves, Joey Matheson, Rob Stratton, Chris Long, and Rob Portman. That quickly ended midway through August when Chris Long left the band and when Rob Portman left for university. Still, David, Joey and Rob kept playing, while looking for a new singer.
Close to the end of August, we contacted Ian Beach. We took him to a practice and after one song he instantly became our lead singer. A few days later we started thinking of names for the band and one of the first names that came to our minds was Losing Color because we saw a photo shop that said color in its name. So, from then on we were known as Losing Color.
In October, we realized we wanted another vocalist. So, we ended up contacting Darcy Llewellyn and asked him if he wanted in. He said yes and he became a new member of Losing Color.
