As a Seventeen-Year-Old Singer-Songwriter Landon Austin of Dallas was named the 2006 Texas Music Project's Texas 10 under 20 winner for the North Texas region. The event was held at the Dallas International Guitar Festival. He is a junior at the Episcopal School of Dallas. Landon combines fingerstyle and rhythmic guitar playing with original lyrics and smooth vocals. Landon's original songs Ask Myself and Afternoon both drew high praises from a panel of judges. He was a finalist in the 2004 Texas 10 under 20 competition with an electric guitar solo. He began playing the guitar at age 10 and currently plays for the praise and worship band at Covenant Church "Neotropolis" in Carolton Tx. Landon continues to to write and sing original songs and plans to begin recording them this year.
