Independently releasing her debut album, Truth is Invisible, Kim is gaining airplay, fans, and collaborators from around the globe. Her song Cold Hands Warm Heart made her a semi-finalist in the International Song Writing Competition of 2003. And it is her sexy, distictive voice that is really drawing attention. Previously playing in a serious of bands including, Morningwood, and in NYC, collaboration with former Columbia Records recording artist, Brenda Kahn. Morningwood became a local sensation in Austin and played events such as the MTV Sports and Music Festival and national festivals including SXSW and CMJ. Kahn and Powell's teaming up took them to the first annual Rocker Girl Festival in Seattle, SXSW, and enjoyed a live video streaming spot on SPIN.com. Currently, Kim is working on promotion of the CD, playing live shows, and continuing to write new songs.
