I've always been a huge music fan. I bought my first guitar at 16. I'd been listening to music to a point which I'd fall asleep with my headphones on. I taught myself some basic chords and started playing along with my favorite tunes by the Beatles & the Goo Goo Dolls, while I was experimenting with writing my own music.
Everywhere I went the guitar traveled with me. By the time I turned 20, I had a little over 100 songs. Using savings from serving in the Israeli army which I had joined at 18, I recorded a project called CANJIL, named after the places I've lived in – CA, NJ & Israel. This was a one time crack at music recording, before leaving the army and starting business school as I was expected to do.
You'd think serving in the army would teach you how precious life is, but it was cancer which reminded me that the only thing you get one crack at – is life. It is with this reminder that I am finally pursuing music as a career.
Music inspires me to breathe. I will never stop.

About Guy H. Karmi

Growing up in California, I've always been a huge music fan. I bought my first guitar at 16. By that time, I'd been listening to music to a point which I'd fall asleep with my headphones on. I taught myself some basic chords and started playing along with my favorite tunes by the Beatles, Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls, while I was experimenting with writing my own music.
When I was 18, I made a choice of serving in the Israeli Defense Force as a way of contributing to my heritage; the land I was born in. Still, everywhere I went the guitar traveled with me. By the time I turned 20, I had a little over 100 songs. Using savings from serving in the Israeli army, I recorded a project called CANJIL, named after the places I've lived in – California, New Jersey and Israel. CANJIL was intended as a one time crack at music recording, before leaving the army and starting business school as I was expected to do.
You'd think serving in the army would teach you how precious life is, but it was cancer which reminded me that the only thing you get one crack at – is life. It is with this reminder that I am finally pursuing music as a career.
Music inspires me to breathe. It is what keeps me going, and for the first time in my life I feel on target and I won't let anything stop me from doing the one thing I was meant to do.
I sincerely hope you enjoy what I have to offer.
