While doomsayers lay dying in wait for the next 15-minute imposters to affirm their worst fears about rock-n-roll’s imminent demise, Minnesota’s FLAVOR are daring to spread hope among the masses. Hitting countless venues throughout the upper-Midwest, they’re taking audiences on a crusade far beyond the clichéd confines of reality TV culture, yet still managing to clock in infectious, hook-heavy songs at a tidy three-and-a-half minutes.
Their fresh, dynamic sound melds a perfect-pop combination of both brains and balls – courageously deep cuts fuse whip-smart, lovesexy lyrics with modern guitar-rock bravado and a super-tight spin on the streamlined grooves of old school funk, R&B and soul. That mix of genre-bending approach and universal appeal has found them opening for a wide range of high-profile, national acts and garnering devotees at theaters, clubs, festivals and college campuses alike.

“Perhaps one of the finest alt-indie bands around today, Flavor’s main ingredient is rock solid groove, vocals and harmonies that ring true to pitch and tone, and production that leaves me believing someone is watching out for these boys… Flavor is one seriously dialed in outfit … easily destined to play to those whose idea of perfection is the quality of bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Stevie Wonder…

…I’ve been told that the Minneapolis / St. Paul music is not what it used to be, that it’s "dried up" a bit … shhhhhhh … don’t tell Flavor that … we need the new sound of their Minneapolis funky rock. I’ll echo what many others in the press have already stated … this is one brilliant indie band.” ~ Chris K. Pro Critic Radio

"Minnesota four get funky (somewhere between Dave Mathews and the Chili Peppers) while keeping the pop-rock propulsion on track. Singer/guitarist Wade Linkert has good looks and gives a soulful and rangey voice to his originals, one of which snagge

Bio

FLAVOR has been fighting to spread their fresh brand of funky pop-rock & roll since their first studio album, recorded in 2001. The ensuing years would bring much touring, many accolades, and quite a bit more music.
THEIR MUSIC fuses pop-sensibility in the spirit of Maroon 5 and funky hooks reminiscent of Lenny Kravitz. Their musicianship is familiar to Chili Peppers & Dave Mathews fans and is laced with soulful vocals that provoke comparisons to Jeff Buckley & Prince. Their strong and catchy songwriting yields their own unique style, however, and sets them apart from so many other musical acts in their genre.
THEIR AWARDS include “Best Rock Album” by the 2003 MN Music Awards for their sophomore album, “Red,” and they were nominated “Best Rock Band” the same year and “Best New Band” in 2002. That year they also snagged a NARAS contest award, were named Jim Beam’s “Band of the Week,” and won Minnesota’s KQRS Homegrown contest.
THEIR PERFORMANCES are contagiously energetic and have brought them to countless venues, colleges, and festivals within their hometown of Minneapolis, MN and throughout the Midwest. They have shared the stage with Jonny Lang, Edwin McCain Joe Firstman, Dada, Little Feat, The Nadas, and many others.
THEIR STORY began when Wade and guitarist Alex Moreno formed a band in High School and went on to make much music together. They eventually (and temporarily) parted ways to go on and start other projects. Shortly after, L
