E-wah Lady took out the prestigious APRA Open Award at the Darebin Music Feast Songwriters' Competition in 2010. Originally composed by singing into an mp3 player while staying in New York, the player was soon after stolen while travelling in Mexico. Fortunately, she managed to piece it back together with some detective work. Plans are underway to record the song later this year for Part I of two concept albums.

Previously audiences would've caught E-wah Lady's striking solo shows performing on electric guitar with just a bear-shaped lamp for company.

Now she has a compelling band, The Open Road. The music is packed with psyche country intonations and lyrics that pull at your heartstrings and deliver a visceral punch.

She has three releases through Peak Plasma Concentration Records.

APRA Songwriters' Award - Darebi

E-wah Lady took out the prestigious APRA Open Award at the Darebin Music Feast Songwriters' Competition in 2010. Her song, When You're Down and Out was performed, as it was written, a capella. Originally composed by singing into an mp3 player while staying in New York, the player was soon after stolen while travelling in Mexico. Fortunately, she managed to piece it back together with some detective work Plans are underway to record the song later this year for Part I of two concept albums.

She recently played at Radio Anytime as part of The Melbourne Fringe Festival and has played shows alongside many of Melbourne's finest, including the late Rowland S Howard, his younger brother Harry Howard and the NDE, Aleks & The Ramps, Sister Cities (a side-project of Architecture In Helsinki), Oliver Mann and many more.

In 2005 E-wah Lady signed up to independent label Peak Plasma Concentration Records. She has three releases to date, debut album This Is Remorse (2006), EP Almost Sold My Axe (2006) and album Lights & Sirens (2007).

This Is Remorse, featuring the danceable number, Self Self Loathe, was selected in 2007 as a recording of note and is catalogued in perpetuity with the National Library of Australia.

Of the hand stitched EP, Almost Sold My Axe The Dwarf's Organs said, "There's no pretense, and the power of each performance offers a truth that is seldom seen these days."

Lights & Sirens picked up national radio play on Australia's best community run radio stations and a positive review from journalist and author David Nichols for Mess and Noise, "E-wah Lady makes stuff go, with her excellent command of tunes and what sounds like quite a mature and realistic view of life."
E-wah has played several live-to-air shows on independent radio and featured on 3CR's DIY Arts Show compilation and fundraiser showcase at legendary Melbourne venue The Tote.
