Benoir

Long Island guitarist Benoir left home for Miami in 1991 and never looked back. He studied Jazz Performance and Studio Music and quickly started performing as a trio at clubs in South Beach and beyond. His Film Arts Revolution gained attention from NBC and he premiered his mixed media event that utilized psychedelic improvised soundtracks at Wetlands in 1995. (now documented in the Wetlands Preserved DVD)

After jamming wild and free compositions with many great musicians during this period, Benoir landed a side man gig with Jazz Vocalist Terri Thornton (Naked City Theme), and later World Beat phenom Pharaoh's Daughter. He toured the U.S. and the world with PHD and began performing under his own name at the Knitting Factory, Joe's Pub, and various venues in the NYC area. HIs music has transformed through the years from avant-garde to world jazz, to reggae, dub, electronic dance, and now a more polished commercial Blues/Rock sound that allows him to sing and play the electric guitar. His talents aren't limited to playing, as he produced MUSICNOIR releases as: Sauce On the Side, Noirkestra: Psi-Fi-Hi, Dub Affair, Ginger Dust, and his forthcoming - Benoir & Dreamer Cult: Soulful of Blues. His career has been a long road of live performances, recording sessions, touring, teaching, directing and more. Benoir has also acted in the occasional independent film and has a regular segment on Hybrid Lounge in which he interviews and reviews other artists' work.
