LYRICS
Caring People
copyright 2005, Diane Stanton-Rich
VERSE 1:
There were waves of destruction
In the 2004 tsunami
Entire communities swept away
For awhile, it overwhelmed me
But soon waves of compassion
Came from people far and near
Scouts, school groups, and others
Did fundraisers and sent volunteers
CHORUS:
Caring people doing simple things
Really it’s not so rare
It’s the caring people reaching out in love
Choosing to give and share
Thank God for caring people
VERSE 2:
Sometimes I hate to hear news
I see children crying from war
Mudslides and earthquakes, fires and floods
I can’t watch anymore
But then I hear of people
Trying to ease the sorrow
They help plant the seeds
To grow a better tomorrow
(Repeat Chorus)
BRIDGE:
I want to shut my eyes so I won’t see the pain
I have to close my ears or I might go insane
But when I open my heart, it’s not in vain
Together we are stronger than a hurricane
(Repeat Chorus)
TAG:
Let’s be caring people

Bio

Hi. I'm living in Japan for another year. I'm from the USA (NC, CO, MI, MD, GA, TN, SC, etc). I like to compose music with musicians via the internet. We send MP3s and lyrics back and forth via email until we come up with a song we both like. Please let me know if you're interested in co-writing or would like more details. I enjoy composing in a variety of different styles. Keep the music flowing. . .

OUTTA MY FACE
copyright 2005, Diane Stanton-Rich
VERSE 1:
I’m gonna get a facial
To remove these lines of stress
That mainly came from being
With that man of mine, oh yes
CHORUS:
I sent him packin’ ; he’s outta here
I finally got him outta my place
And now I’m gonna get him
Outta my face
VERSE 2:
I’m throwing out his photos
And his sweat-shirt that I wore
I’ll get some new foundation
Make-up from the store
(Repeat Chorus)
BRIDGE:
I’ll erase my frown lines
And replace them with laugh lines
I’m washin’ away the grime
My face has a new shine
(Repeat Chorus)

WHAT ARE YOU DREAMING?
copyright 2005, Diane Stanton-Rich
VERSE 1:
I like to rock you. I watch your sweet face,
And cherish your fingers and toes.
Yes, I love to rock you and sing you to sleep.
Your eyelids grow heavy and close.
CHORUS:
What are you dreaming, dreaming my little one?
What are you dreaming tonight?
What are you dreaming my little one so new?
If I close my eyes can I dream it with you?
VERSE 2:
I like to rock you. We sway back and forth,
As I hum a tune soft and low.
Yes, I love to rock you and sing you to sleep.
Then off to your dream world you go.
(Repeat Chorus)
VERSE 3:
I like to rock you. As I watch you rest,
I wonder if I’m dreaming too.
Yes, I love to rock you and sing you to sleep.
For you are my dream that’s come true.
(Repeat Chorus)

HEART TO HEART COMMUNICATION
c 2005, Diane Stanton-Rich
VERSE 1:
Faxes are good for business
Emails are fun with a friend
Cell phones keep us connected
Computer photos are great to send
PRE-CHORUS:
But that’s not what I want from you
I want something more with you
CHORUS:
Heart to Heart Communication
Hand to hand and skin to skin
You and me looking deep within
What I want with you is heart to heart communication
VERSE 2:
It’s fun to surf the net
And chat online sharing views
But it won’t satisfy me
I need more than chatter from you
(Repeat Chorus)
VERSE 3:
On my MP3 player
I can hear a thousand songs
But the music that I’m craving
Is to play you all night long
BRIDGE:
Virtual Reality’s a pretty good deal
It is exciting and new
But there’s no substitute for keeping it real
There are things a machine can’t do
(Repeat Chorus)

INSOMNIA
copyright 2005, Diane Stanton-Rich
VERSE 1:
Oh maybe I’ll call him, but no, it’s too late
I’ll see him tomorrow, but I can’t wait
OK, just calm down; I’ve gotta relax
Oh hey, I’ve got it-- I’ll send him a fax
CHORUS:
I just can’t sleep
Insomnia--I’ve been like this all week
Insomnia--Thinking ’bout him
VERSE 2:
I could try some CDs to help me calm down
Here’s “Waves of the Ocean” or “Forest Sounds”
Perhaps more warm milk will do the trick
Or I could just hit my head with a brick
(Repeat Chorus)
VERSE 3:
I’ve got to get sleep; I’ll lie calm and still
This time I can do it--I know I will
I’ll close my eyes, relax and unwind
I won’t let thoughts of him enter my mind
BRIDGE:
I won’t think about his holding me
I won’t think about his touching me
I won’t think about his kissing me
I won’t think about his--ooooh
(Repeat Chorus)
