(Laughing) Well I guess that call would be up to the listener! Have been told I sound just like Anne Murray when I cover her songs onstage.

Influences

Pretty much anything but rap. I listen to everything from ABBA to Patsy Cline to Queensryche. What rivets me about a song is an interesting tempo/melody line that changes through the song, and lyrics that reach and grab your attention from the first word...

Bio

Ever since I can remember I have had a fascination with music – different tempos, rhythms and melodies weaving together to tell stories.

I grew up in a very musical family – my grandfather played mandolin, banjo, guitar and fiddle. It was in church where I grew up singing a capella that I learned harmony by ear and to appreciate its subtleties. To this day I consider myself a much stronger harmony singer than a lead vocalist.

In 1989 was my first real taste of being a ‘professional singer’ when I was the vocalist with the Midwestern State University Jazz Band. That was the beginning of a true love relationship with live performances. The songwriting began its infancy along about that same time. Like every other creative process, it can be painful – sometimes the songs come all at once, and sometimes little pieces here and there trickle in over a long period.
