Comprised of members from across the country, Phoenix, Arizona-based Calumet is a band united in its love of The Funk. Rather than being a rehash of earlier times, the group is creating new music out of the primordial soup and expressing itself with originality and style. Using analog instruments conveys an organic flavor and the band creates the basis for many of its songs spontaneously while playing live. Elements of Jazz, blues, rock, and other styles find their way into Calumet's music, which can be deep or danceable, serious or fun.
