She began hosting has 15 years active involvement hosting at WORT, as well as throughout the Madison Hip Hop community, including planning & promoting with the Madison Hip Hop Awards, UCAN (Urban CommunityArtsNetwork), working with Mad Lit, various artist's events & competitions, and held shows that donated proceeds to local charities. A supporter of Local Hip Hop, she is a board member of U.C.A.N. and 89.9fm WORT. She is a believer that music and art connect people. You'll often hear shout-outs from listeners during the Universal Soul Explosion, speaking to their loved ones that are incarcerated, as they tune in each weekend from correctional facilities. BossLady said, "I read each letter that comes in from the listeners & relay their shout-outs, giving them a voice, & hopefully give them some temporary freedom through music."
