Music has a special place in its heart for Stephen Moody. Even as a youth, Music treated him as one of its own, as if Music was a part of his very being.

When asked if his late grandfather George W. Moody, a jazz musician and composer from the East Coast, had any influence on what he does today, Moody responds “Yeah he did. I wanted to be just like him. I even played his saxophone for a time. I came to realize that music runs through my blood. The Lord has blessed me with music too."

Many have been trying to figure out what sets Moody apart from others. Is it the big melodic hooks, the soothing chords, or the simplicity of his beats?

“Neither” Moody responds with a smile. “Truthfully, I really can’t explain it. It’s just what has been placed in me. Shoot, I’m still trying to figure out how to reproduce what I hear inside of me.”

By embracing his gift, Moody is certainly poised to make his mark in the industry, and leave his own legacy to pass along.

Bio

There is a beautiful dynamic about beats. They will always speak for themselves.

You can't force people to dig it.
You can't force people to talk about it.
You can't force people to nod their heads to it.

Sure, it helps to know that BlaqIvory Productions is gaining steam, and the simple yet fulfilling beats are addicting to Hip-Hop and Urban music lovers all across the spectrum, but we won't go there.

It may also help to know that BlaqIvory Productions is the vehicle that 28-year old Stephen Moody uses to showcase his gift to the world. It may even help to know that he is a Christian, but heh, we won't go there either right now, because the bottom line is this: Music will always speak for itself.

So, if you find yourself noddin' your head, thinking of lyrics as the beat titillates your speakers, just go with the flow. That's just music speaking to you, and it's never misunderstood.
