Free Monica is an acoustic pop-rock trio from Niceville, Fl. Founded by Kyle LaMonica and Ben Friedman in 2003, Free Monica has since put out two full length albums. Both their first album Matter of Time (2003) and their sophomore album, Egoliath (2005) were produced in former Free Monica drummer Andy Gagliano’s Red Dog studio. A host of the best musicians from the area were called upon to help create Egoliath including Dan Collins of Black Eyed Blonde (Bass), David Pretlow (Violin), Daniel Hutson (Alt. Sax), Gio Vanni (Harmonica), and Terry Ramsey formerly of the band Clueless (Destin, Fl) on the drums. Terry Ramsey has since become a member of Free Monica and proven to be an integral component of the band’s high energy acoustic rock. In such a short time Free Monica has established themselves as a powerful presence in the local music scene.
