Barry is a life-long musician/hobbyist (since 1960) with a wide range of playing styles. As a bassist, he has provided solid backing that fits right in with whatever has been required by the bands he's been involved with. From Folk to Rock to Gospel, he's played live, toured, been recorded and been in many bands.

Since the 1970's Barry has written hundreds of songs, performed a few in church settings and recorded a few only to get an idea how they might sound with multiple instruments.

Now in his 60s, these days Barry spends some of his spare time writing and recording rough versions of his tunes for fun. Content to remain a hobbyist, he has never completely closed the door when a great opportunity presents itself.

Bio

Barry has been playing music for more than 40 years. He started with piano lessons as a child and played flutophone then trumpet through elementary school and Jr High. He began playing guitar in 1970 and wrote his first 2-chord acoustic tune that same year.

Primarily a bassist, his musical journey has taken him from Folk to "oldies" (50's-70's) to Gospel to Christian and Classic Rock. His band involvement has included a performing Folk group, many church-sponsored sanctuary and outreach bands (including some touring), and several garage bands along the way. He has also been professionally recorded (live) as part of the backup band for a Gospel choir.

Since the 1970's, he has written many songs, performed a few in church settings and recorded some only to get an idea how they might sound with multiple instruments. A Born-Again Christian, he gave his musical talents to God more than 20 years ago.

Barry still writes and records rough versions of his tunes sometimes. He knows his vocal voice isn't very good, but that's okay. His goal is not to perform live or to get signed, but rather to submit his best material to industry professionals for possible recording by established artists. If that never makes any headway, at least Barry can say later in life that he tried!
