Endowed with a voice smooth as cognac and a knack for writing well-crafted songs, Seattle-based singer-songwriter and pianist Andrea Wittgens has been writing pop music since she was a teenager. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Wittgens grew up under the influence of her parents sizable jazz collection, rigorous classical piano lessons and of course the Top-40 songs that were able to make their way, static and all, to her little bedroom radio. Stylistically, Wittgens’ songs are unquestionably pop: memorable melodies, lushly layered vocal harmonies, hooks and lot’s of ‘em. Her pop sensibilities have been even been compared to songwriters as varied as Harry Nilsson and Carole King. She has recorded two albums, both under the band name SUGARTOWN. The latest album, the self-released “How Do You Love, Aquamarine?” has, in its first five months, sold 600 copies in Seattle alone. “
