My name is Kerwin Alexander, I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, while growing up on Detroit’s West Side.
I was influenced by a wide variety of music, by the time I turned thirteen I picked up the guitar, at the age of fourteen I played my first club. I was inspired to play guitar when I heard a childhood friend of mine play guitar with his family band After that I was hooked. I played in several local bands around the Detroit metropolitan area for about, seven or eight years, I played music ranging from R&B, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Rock&Roll and Blues.By the time I turned tweentytwo I moved to Denver, Colorado in 1982,where I focused more on song writing and Producing.Then after two years I wanted a more challenging environment. So I moved to North Hollywood, California in 1984, to pursue more songwriting and producing opportunities.

I immediatley teamed up with two former band members from Detroit.The three of us formed a production company named Upper Manhatten Productions, where we wrote and produced vocal/music tracks for the likes of Al McKay (Earth Wind and Fire band), Micheal ? (RoseRoyce band) and Leslie Wilson (NewBirth band). I also played guitar in a few bands in and around the Los Angeles area. After eight years of living in California I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1992.

I started my own recording studio. I worked on independent projects and did a lot of song writing. I’ve recently worked on a Film based out of Detroit named “Richard Heat”. I wrote, produced, scored several songs, sound tracks, voice-overs, sound editing and video editing for this film.

My program experience: 5years Protools HD/LE, 5years Reasons, 3years Logic Pro, 2years Digital Performer, 8years Cubase VST/SX, 2years Finalcut Pro.
